Wings of Spring

CA$125.00

Spring’s approach is always a fantastic time of year, new life just waiting to pop out after a long winter. One cold February morning I observed this female Anna’s Hummingbird gather nesting material from some cattails in a marsh. These hummingbirds are remarkable architects, using fluff and spider webs to build tiny nests which they’ll later camouflage with moss and lichen. Female hummingbirds raise their young entirely solo while males spend their energy defending the nesting territory instead. Hummingbirds inspired me to start my journey as a wildlife photographer some years ago, so they really hold a special place in my heart. It’s always an honour to capture a glimpse of their life in a photograph.

Ethically photographed in the Vancouver area.

Print size: 16x24 inches.

All prints are created locally on high quality fine art printing paper.
